Driving License Requirements

The driving license requirements for travellers wishing to rent a scooter or ATV (quad bike) with us are listed below.
Requirements follow Greek law and our insurance contracts.

Important: Drivers who show up on the rental date with the wrong driving license category will not get a refund for the 30% prepayment of the total rental cost.

Experience required: All drivers must have previous experience driving scooters or motorcycles and a valid motorcycle class driving license. If the driver does not have experience with a backseat passenger, it is not safe to start practising during the holiday.

REQUIREMENTS

Valid license: CAR (B)

Minimum time held: At least 3 years

Minimum age: 24 years old

International Driving License (IDP): B

Remember: To be valid, an international driving license must accompany your current national driving license.

If you have a car (B) driving license from EU countries, Australia, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Ghana, Indonesia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Israel, Japan, Morocco, Republic of Albania, Republic of Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, Ukraine, United States of America, or Venezuela, you do not need an IDP.

Minimum time held: 2 years

Minimum age: 21

Restriction codes: Not allowed: 79.03, 79(3), 79.04, 79(4), 79(2), (>45km)

IDP: A or A1 (no moped restriction)

200cc / 300cc / 350cc / 450cc / 600cc

License: A / A2

Minimum time held: 2 years

Minimum age: 21 (scooter)

Restriction codes: Not allowed: 79.03, 79(3), 79.04, 79(4), 79(2), (>45km)

IDP: A (no moped restriction)

650cc / 1000cc

License: A

Minimum time held: 3 years

Minimum age: 24

Restriction codes: Not allowed: 79.03, 79(3), 79.04, 79(4), 79(2), (>45km)

IDP: A (no moped restriction)

Remember: To be valid, an International Driving License must accompany your current national motorcycle driving license.

RESTRICTION CODES

🔘 For a 125cc scooter: valid motorcycle license for 2+ years and 21+ years old.

European / UK: A or A1 or A2 (without restriction codes 79.03, 79(3), 79.04, 79(4), 79(2), (>45km)).

IDP: A or A1 (without restriction to mopeds)

🔘 For a 300cc scooter: valid motorcycle license for 2+ years and 25+ years old.

European / UK: A or A2 (without restriction codes 79.03, 79(3), 79.04, 79(4), 79(2), (>45km)).

IDP: A (without restriction to mopeds)

🔘 Piaggio MP3 300cc (three-wheeled): minimum age 24 years old.

Important: The European Car Driving license (Class B) must have been obtained before 19 January 2013.
European License: B or A or A2 (without restriction: >45km)
International License: A

Non-EU driving license holders can reserve the MP3 only with a valid motorcycle category driving license.

Kind reminder: The IDP is based on your country's driving license. To be valid, it must accompany your current national driving license.

The easiest way to confirm if you have the correct driving license category is by sending us a picture of both sides of the driver's license.

Before online booking: make sure your European license category A1 or A does not have restriction codes: 79.03 - 79(03) - 79.04 - 79(04) - 79(2) - >45km

With the European AM category, you can drive mopeds and motorized cycles up to 50cc / 50km/h.
